Nesting Bowls:
Working on Consistency of Form
Introduction
Nesting Bowls: Working on Consistency of Form will teach you how to be very purposeful about what you are throwing. You will learn how to throw multiples of the same form, both in the same size and in scaled sizes. These are the skills needed to create lovely stacks of pots for in your kitchen cupboards.
Dates
Sep 14 - 18, 2026 (5 days)
Content
We will start by strengthening our basic throwing skills, tweaking our processes to increase the ease of repetition. Next, we will explore what forms stack or nest well, what shapes we are drawn to making, and what function is most important to us. Finally, and most importantly, we will each choose a project and throw, throw, throw!
Firings
To get the most out of the Nesting Bowls intensive, we highly recommend that you keep nothing - that you focus on throwing and some trimming. Rarely outside of an experience like this will you have the opportunity to throw as much clay as you can without concerns for recycling your clay.
For those who would really like to bring something home, you can choose to take pieces home immediately at the leather hard stage, paying for the clay by weight, and firing them at your leisure at home. Or you can choose to have us bisque and glaze fire pieces. In that case, there is an additional cost for the firings and the shipping.

Cost
