Il Baciarino, Tuscany

Ten days. That is the length of every retreat we run at Il Baciarino; long enough that the pace actually changes, long enough that something real has a chance to happen, long enough that you stop being a visitor and start being someone who lives here for a little while.

We offer ceramics, ecoprinting, natural dyeing, indigo, jewellery, silversmithing, glass, enamelling, bookbinding, pen and watercolour, and Italian cooking and culture. Some retreats are focused on a single medium. Others weave several together. All of them are held at Il Baciarino, at our agriturismo in the hills of the Maremma, forty minutes from the sea.

The structure is consistent across all offerings. The time in the studio is hands-on, responsive to what you are actually making rather than to a fixed lesson plan. And the rest of the time is given to the life around the making - the beach, the olive grove, the hill towns, the long table that is the centre of everything here.
