Week Three:
Colour
Welcome back! You’re past the halfway point, and you’re starting to gather some interesting little sketches and some great words. This week we’ll make the cover, explore a different aspect of our leaves, and learn the second of our two alphabets.
Same spirit as ever: playful, light, and no pressure. Wobbly lines, blotchy washes and uneven letters are all welcome.
Here’s what we have for you:
As you are beginning to get used to, there are three things to play with this week
Chandra will walk you through the second hand lettered alphabet this week. You can watch in the video or you can copy the alphabet or a sentence. Try your hand at it on a sheet first, then try a few words on a page of your book.
Alex shows you how to notice the details and capture them with both pen and watercolour. You can also use the written instructions.
Sara’s prompts give you something to write about in your new alphabet.
BEFORE YOU START
You’ll need your accordion book, your chosen leaves, your waterproof pen, a pencil and eraser, a few scraps of paper for practising, and of course your watercolours
HOW MUCH TIME TO GIVE IT
About an hour or two in total. Practise a little at a time if you like, a few minutes here and there.
SHARE WHAT YOU MAKE
As you’re working, we’d love to see photos. You can Whatsapp them to +393334425544 or post them to Instagram and tag us @figandficuscollective
