Studio Assistant
These positions are work exchanges — accommodation, all meals, and a place in a creative community of international women in exchange for your time and energy in the studio and on the property.
What we offer: A bedsit in the loft at Il Baciarino — a cosy private space with a desk and sitting area below and a double bed with skylights above. All meals included, and we eat well. Studio access in your off hours with reasonable use of materials and tools. Occasional use of a car if you hold a licence and can drive a manual. And the particular pleasure of being part of something that draws curious, creative women from around the world.
What we ask: Around eight to nine hours a day, five days a week, varying with the rhythm of the retreats or other events happening. A visitor visa is sufficient — these are volunteer positions. And a genuine interest in the work we do here.

Ceramics - September 1 to October 11, 2026
You will be supporting our ceramics retreats: you will prep and wedge clay, glaze and load kilns, maintain the studio, set up and pack down between sessions, wash dishes, chat with guests, and be a warm and capable presence in the room. You need a solid general ceramics background. Throwing experience is an asset. Teaching experience even more so.

Ecoprinting and Natural Dyeing - October 25 to December 4, 2026
You will be supporting our ecoprinting and natural dyeing retreats: you will gather and maintain leaf collections, manage dye pots and steamers, prepare cloth, answer questions, set up and pack down, and be part of the day-to-day rhythm of retreat life. Ecoprinting experience is ideal. A natural dyeing background is a strong foundation. Teaching experience is a significant asset.
